Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24/10/2026 · Last updated: 24/10/2026

This policy explains how Corporate Ace Limited collects and uses personal data when you visit Cheapest Fuel Finder (cheapestfuelfinder.co.uk), part of the UK Traffic News network. You do not need an account, and you do not need to give us any personal details, to find fuel prices.

Who We Are

Corporate Ace Limited is the data controller for this website.

What We Collect, Why, and on What Legal Basis

Server Records

What: like most websites, our web server keeps a record of each request: the page visited, the date and time, the page that sent you to us, your IP address, and the browser information your device sends, from which we can tell the browser, operating system and type or model of device. We analyse these records with statistics software that runs on our own servers.
Why: to keep the site secure (including spotting and blocking abusive and automated traffic), to keep it working, and to understand which pages are used so we can improve them.
Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Kept for: up to 6 years (2,190 days). Statistics that have been added up into totals, and no longer identify anyone, may be kept for longer.

Approximate Location

What: an approximate location, such as country or town, worked out from your IP address. Our server does not receive GPS or precise location.
Why: visitor statistics.
Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Kept for: up to 6 years (2,190 days).

Cheapest Fuel Near Me and Your Device's Location

What: if you choose Use My Location, your browser asks your permission and then gives the page your device's position. The page uses it on your device to work out which forecourts are nearest. Your position is not sent to us and we do not store it. You can type a postcode instead; that too is used only on your device.
Why: to show forecourts near you, only when you ask.
Legal basis: your choice, through your browser's permission prompt; you can withdraw it in your browser settings at any time.

Your Fuel and Units

What: the fuel type and units (litres or gallons) you pick are remembered in your browser's local storage, so you do not have to choose them again. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Why: to remember a setting you asked for.
Legal basis: legitimate interests; storing a setting you chose is strictly necessary for that feature.

Email Correspondence

What: if you email us, your name, your email address and what you write.
Why: to reply to you and keep a record of the correspondence.
Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Kept for: up to 6 years (2,190 days).

Cookies

This site does not run Google Analytics or advertising cookies today. Our consent banner (Cookie-Script) stores the choices you make. The banner is already set up for the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, which advertising partners use, so that it is ready when advertising starts; no advertising runs on this site yet. If we add analytics or advertising, they will run only with your consent, and this policy and our Cookie Policy will be updated first.

Fuel Price Data

The prices on this site come from the Government's Fuel Finder scheme (DESNZ), used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. They are about forecourts, not about you, and contain no personal data about visitors. Maps and area outlines use OpenStreetMap data.

Where Your Data Comes From

From your device when you visit the site, and from you if you email us. We do not obtain personal data about you from other organisations or from public sources. You are not required by law or by any contract to give us personal data.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data.

Transfers Outside the UK

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email Our email address, shown as an image or write to our registered office. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within one month, or tell you within that month if a complex request needs up to two more months.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, and access to it is limited to those who need it. No system is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We review this policy from time to time. Any change takes effect when it is published here, and the date at the top of this page will change. See also our Cookie Policy.
