Cheapest Fuel Near Durham

Why We Do This

We want drivers in Durham to know where the cheapest fuel is, every day. With about 42,100 people living in Durham, even 10% of them saving 1p a litre would keep about £29,000 a year in local pockets — and at 5p a litre, about £148,000.

If saving a few pence a litre means a little more for the things you need, that's a good day's work for us.

Keeping your tyres at the right pressure and easing off the speed both save fuel — see our hints and tips.

Based on: population 42,100 (OpenStreetMap figure); 6,200 miles a year for an average petrol car (DfT National Travel Survey 2024, NTS0901); 40 mpg (our assumption) = about 704 litres a year each. Figures rounded down.
